Local Elections Kick Off

Candidates began announcing their intentions to run in local races. Renton covers multiple districts for the county council, as well as its own municipal races. For the Renton City Council, Randy Corman and* Ruth Pérez announced on Facebook they will be running together for re-election. One more position is up for election.

Update: Joseph Todd has announced his campaign for Renton City Council for position one, currently held by Councilmember Randy Corman (3/9/2021).

Update: Max John Heller III has announced his campaign for position two of the Renton City Council, currently held by Angelina Benedetti. (3/14/2021).

Update: Angelina Benedetti has announced her campaign to retain position two (4/14/2021).

Update: Carmen Rivera has also announced her campaign for position two (4/14/2021).

Update: Sojin Thompson has announced his campaign for position six, currently held by Ruth Pérez (4/23/2021).

Update: Randy Corman has dropped from the race, endorsing candidate James Alberson (5/9/2021)

In the Martin Luther King County Council several campaigns have started. In District 5, Dave Upthegrove has announced his re-election campaign, and Shukri Olow has announced a campaign for election. Nearby in District 9, Reagan Dunn is seeking re-election and is being challenged by Chris Franco and Kim-Khanh Van.
