Here is the tea in Renton this Tuesday, November 16th (the last tea):
- Ryan McIrvin was elected as the Council President for 2022!
- Ed Prince was elected as pro tempore for 2022!
- Councilmember-Elect Carmen Rivera will be Renton’s first openly-queer councilmember in Renton’s first-ever BIPOC majority council.
- The City Council met on Monday, November 15th; Councilmember Randy Corman moved to elect Ryan McIrvin as president and Valerie O’Halloran as Pro Tempore. Councilmember Kim-Khanh Van amended to remove the Pro Tempore from the vote, which was approved by a majority of the council. Councilmember Randy Corman then moved to elect Valerie O’Halloran as pro tempore, this was rejected by a majority of the council. Councilmember Angelina Benedetti moved to elect Ed Prince as pro tempore, which was approved by the majority.
