Renton Weekly – May 11th

Here is this week’s updates from Renton Progress (last week’s updates):

  • The King County Council has voted on a resolution supporting abortion rights in King County. County Councilmember Reagan Dunn was the only no vote, and only elected Republican on the King County Council. Reagan Dunn is running for a representative position in Congress against Democrat Kim Schrier. Renton Progress has written about Dunn’s history as a county councilmember.
  • Renton’s newly-formed Equity Commission is drafting its bylaws which will eventually be approved by city council once completed. The commission plans to meet the second Tuesday of the month from 5:30PM-7:30PM.
  • The Planning & Development Committee continues to discuss potential oversight and regulation over retail pet sales, which have become a local issue since the opening of a dog store.
